Deja vu and a bat in my room
A sense of deja-vu as I left my home for AMK Methodist today. Today is the first day of SMRT re-deployment. Aboard my 67, I managed to see all the deployments that I could see along Upp Bt Timah - Scania on 171, DAF on 75, Scania on 852 and Lance on 985.My long-time-no-see 75 DAF. They have a special place in my heart - these were the buses that brought me to acsi (halfway, to Clementi Rd), when I was a new new sec sch student. A year later, Scanias replaced the DAFs in a re-deployment that I did not know. Then, I would always like to look at the rear of the Scania and imagine that it was a WA Volvo Mk4. Now the DAFs are back, reminiscent, albeit in SMRT livery.
Imagine - 24 hours ago, Scanias were still running around Bt Panjang Int. And DAFs on 985, Lances on 852. What a big change! (Photo courtesy of Hao Rui)
In the evening, an unexpected visitor flew into in my bedroom. I first noticed something scrambling below my bed and it squeaked. I had a frightful thought - Are rats breeding in the duffel bag under my bed??
It turned out to a bat.
I wonder if it was attracted to my room because of my ultra-sound mosquito repellent, which is said to emit soundwaves equivalent to those of a bat to repel mosquitoes. Articles from the internet said the the soundwaves has no effect on mosquitoes, but bats?
I use a mopping stick to tap around the bat. It flew to the room opposite mine, where it hung from the ledge. Usually it only hangs outside my room.
