Makan makan

Met up with Chief Clerk, Alwyn, Raymond and Marzuki at Sakura for international buffet lunch. This time all of us were late Alwyn. Can't blame us since the rainy weather is so nice for sleeping, at least for Raymond. Marzuki was late for an hour because he mis-heard the time. Got chided by Alwyn for eating without waiting for Chief and the rest... but having only eat one slice of bread for breakfast (on purpose), I am very very hungry...

I guess it was due to the weather that the restaurant was less crowded than usual. No fighting for mussels and sashimi :). Able to relack relack and talk about those weird bosses and colleagues... and we thought we had met enough weird people in our two years in
that place, speaking of which, Chief presented me my best soldier cert and testimonial, looooong overdue. But I still felt proud, thankful to Chief for her guidance and missed the fun times we had. Unfortunately we forgot to take a photo in the restaurant. But that only makes me looking forward to the next makan session :)

We watched The Eye (Ang-moh version). I didn't know it was an exact replica of the Chinese version until 10 minutes into the show, when I thought everything seemed too similar - A girl regaining vision from an eye transplant, scenes from a hospital, a Chinese restaurant, a boy asking for his 'report card', a woman who claimed her seat was taken and a disfigured male ghost in the lift. Even the journey from hospital to home was the same, except there wasn't a man standing in the middle of the expressway, which was a little disappointing coz the scene never failed to freak me out although it was filmed in broad daylight. And the licking of char-siew at the Chinese restaurant was replaced by a fire that took place there. But the English version had a more convincing storyline of how a high speed chase near the border of US and Mexico resulted in a fire and the protagonist losing her sight eventually, compared to a traffic jam in Thailand and a driver lighting a cigarette.

I guess the Chinese version was nicer, because it stroke a chord in the cheena me. The dark door-to-door corridor and run-down lift of Hong Kong high-rise looked 100 times more eerie than the nicely furnished ones in the English version.

After the movie, went HMV with Raymond and Marzuki. We ate at Coffee Club at Taka for dinner.

So much good food for the whole day! Here's my dory fish....

Raymond's fish and chips.

My inaugural act-cute photo, modelled after Dr Yeo's.

Marzuki looked happier today.

Raymond looks the same. always happy. sometimes i wish my brain were as simple as his.. haha
