31July was HCJC's very first and last funfair... things were really cheap. I tore off the $2 portion of my coupon for a CAN of coke when I was told it was selling for $1! And the haunted house cost only $5?! Very cheap. Funfair was quite big and successful.. many patrons.. very good, in fact, for a first-timer.. but only raised about $110k.. HC should learn from AC on how to rip people off.
Screwed up HCJC's N'day Day ceremony.. Though the flag wasn't raised upside down due to my 'excellent' eyesight, the rope entangled unfortunately and my hand wasn't nimble enough to undo those knots. In the end the school flag wasn't raised to the top and mr song told me (jokingly) to practise raising and lowering the flag on Saturdays from 7 to 9am. I thought he understood that the experience was traumatic enough for me already, so he spared me the scolding and pumpings which would otherwise been issued.
As if the earlier experience wasn't 'suay' enough, I got caught for sleeping at the student's lounge during the celebration. Whilst others wrote fake names and classes, I was STUPID enough to write my real name and class (2 tight slaps for honesty and wasting my education ACS). Luckily the DM was understanding... cos the night before we had to recieve our taiwan buddies from night safari... and it was quite evident i was a panda the next morning.
A pity I ain't really enjoying myself over the N'day weekend... sigh. But what I would like to say is ACSuperstar was REALLY good... can just die! Didn't waste my $12. Felt very happy for my alma mater for successfully advertising their production - the auditorium was fully packed! And I paid my part by BUYING a programme leaflet.. it's $1 per piece (wasn't a rip-off surprisingly).. I thought it was a good enterprise although I know ppl from other schs will sure complain. Almost every audience bought a piece. what a good way to ensure that such pain-stakingly printed brochures don't end up in the rubbish bin, cover fixed costs and maybe earn some profits.
Attended a NDP dinner last night, courtesy of weishan (*thanks a lot)... It's a free dinner, so you know what's next =p. nope, not free lunch, but rather free labour... By the way, I thought that the emcees and the cast should use correct ENGLISH instead of that horrible Singlish... I mean, if singlish is used sparringly, it is still ok, lar!
Finally, a Happy National Day! Don't go M'sia jalan jalan, support our own economy leh!!
